The heart beats faster at high altitude.
More to see, more to worry about.
More to see, more to love.
Such are the preoccupations of the heart.
The air is thin because nobody need breathe there.
Already, an enormity of perspective takes it.

Already, an enormity of perspective takes it.
It doesn’t matter if they don’t see
why
it doesn’t matter.
There are other things besides the
in and out of lungs, the
in and out of other capacities
mean each breath
means something.
Niquito, I’m so excited for you. You are at a higher altitude, in another space, living in a new world. Va a estar fantastico. Te echo de menos, keep writing!
To wish you luck, some cryptic Neruda:
(From the Traveler):
…Traveler, beware: keep
a curious eye on the glooms of the highway,
the mysteries crowding the walls.
This I know at great cost: all life is not outward, nor is all death from within:
time writes in the ciphers
of water and rock for no one at all,
so that none may envision the sender
and no one be any the wiser.
…Quito’s in the NYT Top places to see in 2008…
have a grand adventure.
